Connect a calendar
- Open Settings → Calendars. Calendars you connect here are private to you.
- Choose Google Calendar or Outlook / Microsoft 365 and sign in, or fill in the CalDAV or calendar link form.
- Its events start syncing straight away and show on the Calendar page next to the Team calendar.
| Calendar | How it connects | Sync |
|---|---|---|
| Google Calendar | Sign in with Google | Both ways |
| Outlook and Microsoft 365 | Sign in with Microsoft | Both ways |
| iCloud, Fastmail or another CalDAV server | Your username and an app-specific password | Both ways |
| Any calendar link (ICS) | Paste the link the calendar publishes | Read-only |
How sync works
- Changes you make in Nexmail go out to the provider first, then Nexmail reads back, so an edit is never overwritten by an older copy.
- Nexmail keeps a month back and six months ahead in sync, and checks again every few minutes.
- An event you add can go on several calendars at once, and later changes reach all of them.
- If the provider revokes access, the account stops with the reason shown in Settings. No events are deleted, and connecting again picks up where it left off.
Meetings from your email
- Calendar invites, with their updates and cancellations, are added exactly.
- A meeting time written in an email, such as “call on Thursday at 3pm”, becomes a tentative event for you to confirm.
- Mail to your personal address goes on your own calendar; everything else on the Team calendar. Either way, only people who can read the email see the event.
- Each email thread shows the meetings it set up, with Join and Add to calendar.
- On the Team plan, an AI reader also picks up looser wording like “next Tuesday after lunch” or “can we push to 4?”. What it finds is always tentative.
Quick add in plain words
Type a line in the box at the top of the Calendar, such as Lunch with sam@acme.com Friday 1pm for an hour. The event opens filled in for you to check, and nothing is saved until you do. On the Team plan the AI reads it first, so looser phrasing works too.
AI tools and your calendar
Claude and other tools connected over MCP can list your calendars and events, find free time, and create, move or delete events, within what you can see yourself. See Nexmail for AI agents.
